President Bush keeps a very patriotic and uplifting tone throughout his acceptance speech after beating John Kerry to remain President for another 4 years. He is very gracious and thankful through the beginning of his speech and then is using the end of his speech to build up what he plans to do as President to keep the nation going until 2008.
He wishes Kerry and his family the best of luck at the very beginning of the speech. He thanks all of his supporters, family and campaign staff for all of their hard and tireless work to make sure they did everything they could in order to stay in the White House. In the beginning of the speech, he brings up the idea of the Presidential duty to the people of the United States.
Bush then goes on to briefly describe some of the important things that were accomplished by the government in the previous 4 years. He does this to prove to the American people that he did not sit idly by as America went through some trying times, especially towards the end of 2001. He then goes on to describe what he plans to do for the next 4 years while in office.
In his speech, Bush used only 1 quote: "Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers, pray for powers equal to your tasks." The quote simply means to want challenges that you must work to overcome instead of ones that you can easily accomplish with what your skill level is at the current point in time.
